The company came about through our own experiences when trying to find student accommodation. Having members of our team, who have studied abroad. This allowed us to be able to come up with difficulties that students face when looking for accommodation.
A difficult area for students, is not always being based in the area where they are looking to study. This issue means that the students cannot always view the accommodation, which they have found online. They may be able to see the location online and see certain pictures, but cannot view the apartment. Therefore having someone in the city who can go and see the apartment is vital.
Other difficulties as not knowing exactly where the accommodation will be based in the city. Also knowing where the apartment is in terms relation to the institute where the student is going to study at. This is also a huge reason for having someone based in the country.
The final part of the business idea was allowing for international students, who perhaps don’t speak the local language get all the required paperwork sorted out. As Switzerland is not in the European Union, there is certain rules which are specific to Switzerland which means trying to understand the system is difficult. Therefore trying to understand it when there is the language barrier, is almost impossible . Therefore we will walk through the process with the students and their parents, in order for everything to be clearly explained and understood.
